My life uncensored is a Short
collection of Childhood memoir of Cristina Caymers, is
a short read, with only 18 pages. It mainly revolves around how author and her
sister and their time spent on Maternal as well as paternal side of the family.
Both the sisters spent their summer breaks in LA with their paternal side of
the family. There are four chapters in the book; each chapter is dedicated to
one family member of Cristina’s life, i.e. her Father, Mother, Grandfather and
Grandmother.
The language and pace of the used in the book is quite placid. Also, the editing
part was done quite well; I was not able to any grammatical errors in the book.
I like the display for raw emotions and vulnerability of the author.I also like
how the author has provided Spanish translations;
Even though the book seems to be professionally edited, the other aspects like
the plot, characters, storyline, etc. needed major attention.I failed to
understand the basic idea behind the whole story. There was no proper order in
how the things were playing out.Author just jumped from one scenario to other
without any closure to the previous scene.Major part of the story required
reading it multiple times to properly grasp proper context behind the event. On
Various occasions author failed to clarify which character she was writing
about, which created lots of confusion and frustration. Seems to me; the author
has published her very first draft, given the haphazardness of events.
In view of very little things likeable about the book and takes more time that
it should; due to all the confusion, I rate My
Life Uncensored the maximum rating
of two out of Five stars.
I would recommend this book to people who are looking for quick reads or are
just starting to develop a reading habit.
