E Book Review: JASHN: An Awakening

Name: Jashn: An Awakening

Author: Geetika K. Bakshi

Publisher: Inkfeathers Publishing

Available Here: Jashn: An Awakening

Jashn: An Awakening is an anthology of twenty short stories which captures various struggles faced by victims of dark side of our society.  Stories touch upon various themes like sexual harassment, complicated relationships, gender bias, split personality etc. Stories providing a sneak peak into relationship dynamics and emotional tempestuousness.

Each Story is based on the theme; social issues (faced especially by women). Even though the book is mostly bases on breaking the stereotypes, it has other elements like murder/thriller which keeps the thrill alive. The Stories are inspiring and kind of a self help for lost souls.

Even though the stories are inspirational and motivational, they lack the element of uniqueness. I wish the author worked on narration part of the book, as it kept on switching between first person POV and third person POV in a single story which created lot of confusion. Also few stories needed tying up the lose ends. These few points created quite a hindrance in a joyful reading experience.

I would rate Jashn: An Awakening rating of 3 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book to people who are looking for quick reads and also to someone looking for motivational short stories.
