BOOK REVIEW: PEBBLES ON PAPER

NAME: PEBBLES ON PAPER

AUTHOR: SWATI KHATRI

Pebbles on paper is a collection of around 40 different poems and thoughts by the author divided in to nine section on various emotions humans go through during different stage of life. Length of content varies from five lines to whole page, overall it a read of about an hour outstretched.  Author describes emotions as pebbles accumulated over time.

It’s a good read, the whole section on pain and struggle is kind of a self help for people who are dealing with pain and unable to talk to anyone, I really liked how the author described pain as the most faithful emotion to human race, few of the poems are very in intriguing to a deep thinking mind. Chapters in the end feels like episodes of a series one interlinked with other. I loved how parallel emotions of pain and healing are described. Author’s thoughts on winning and how the actual journey starts after reaching the winning spot is quite thought provoking. Description of love is also pure and serene. I felt as if I am the one reciting, poem on love is very well written. Swati Khatri gave this book a very good end, “ Rules of life” is a must read in the book they are simple rules which everyone knows but pushes backward just the sake of it. Swati Khatri reminds readers how easy rules to live a happy and content life are.

Thought behind the book being very good, the writing needs bit more effort, few words and sentences in the poem at start feels as if have been written just for the sake of rhyming and are out of places giving it a distorted look. Over all the book requires polishing in the writing area.

The “Must read” picks of Pebbles on Paper are Change, Right, Thoughts, Blend, Moving, Health takes time, and simple & sweet.

I would definitely recommend this book to all the poetry fans and deep thinkers out there. 😊
