"Story of the Ordinary" is a collection of three stories from different location of India, including The Junk Man, Potter Sticky Clay, and Hand of Gold which resolve around everyday situations and relations but are packed with moral values.
I like how through simple stories author makes us think on different levels like understanding the mind of our little ones, impact of skilled labourers on the children be it a scrap collector, potter or a blacksmith and their contribution in our lives and on the society. The book sheds light on how one can incorporate small values through everyday events from a young age. The stories show a positive way of guiding the children towards a better perspective on life.
The language of the book is easy. I particularly like the interactive picture to fill on the right side of the book which, a fun activity for the children along with learning values. I was able to spot only one typo error on page 13 which is the only unpleasant thing about the book.
Rating: I would rate the book 4 out of 5 points.
Conclusion: Its a good choice for someone who looking to introduce their children to reading.
